Cancellation Policy
Because expenses are incurred prior to the conference, the following cancellation policy is necessary:

All cancellations MUST BE DONE VIA EMAIL TO Lesley Young. The deadline for cancellation is January 31, 2009.

  1. Cancellations received prior and on January 31, 2009 are charged $75 for administrative handling.
  2. There are no refunds on cancellations received after January 31, 2009.
  3. Registrants who do not attend the conference and who do not cancel their registration in writing by January 31, 2009 will not receive a refund.
  4. Substitutions are welcome. If you find that you are unable to attend and would like someone else to attend in your place, please notify John Bacak 703-435-9155 x 404 prior to the event.

Allowable Government Per Diem
Allowable Government Per Diem in Daytona Beach, Florida area presently is $39 per day for meals and incidental expenses (M&IE), and $138 per night for lodging (As of May 1, 2008).

From North: Take I-95 South to Daytona Beach Exit 261-A. Go East on International Speedway Boulevard. (Route 92) 6.5 miles/10.4 kilometers. Turn left (North) on Atlantic Avenue (A1A). Hotel is five blocks on the right.

From South: I-95 North To Daytona Beach Exit 261. East on International Speedway Boulevard. (Route 92) 6.5 miles/ 10.4 kilometers. Turn left (north) on Atlantic Avenue (A1A), and the hotel is five blocks on the right.

From West: I-4 east to I-95 North Exit 261. East on International Speedway Boulevard. (Route 92) 6.5 miles/ 10.4 kilometers. Turn left (north) on Atlantic Avenue (A1A), and the hotel is five blocks on the right.

Airports

Daytona Beach Int'l Airport: Start out going Southeast toward Coral Sea Ave. Turn Right onto Coral Sea Ave. Turn Right onto Richard Petty Blvd. Turn Left onto Hagen Ter. Turn Right onto W International Speedway Blvd/US-92 E. Continue to follow US-92 E. Turn Left onto S Atlantic Ave/FL-A1A. The hotel is five blocks on your right.

Orlando International Airport: Start out going South toward Airport Blvd. Turn slight right onto Airport Blvd. Take the SR-528-Toll E exit, Exit 1A, toward Cocoa/Kennedy Space Center. Merge onto FL-528 E (Portions toll). Take the SR-417-Toll N exit, Exit 16, toward Orlando/Sanford. Merge onto FL-417 N/Central Florida Greenway (Portions toll). Merge onto I-4 E via Exit 55A toward Daytona Beach. Merge onto I-95 N via the exit on the Left toward Jacksonville. Take the US-92 exit, Exit 261, toward Deland/Daytona Beach. Merge onto US-92 E toward Daytona Beach/Airport. Turn Left onto S Atlantic Ave/FL-A1A. The hotel is five blocks on your right.

Jacksonville International Airport: Start out going Northwest on Yankee Clipper Dr. Turn slight right toward Arriving Departing Flights. Turn slight Left onto Dixie Clipper Drive. Dixie Clipper Drive becomes FL-102 E. Merge onto I-95 S toward Jacksonville. Take the US-1 exit, Exit 273, toward Ormond Beach/Bunnell. Take the ramp toward Ormond Beach/ Holly Hill/ Daytona Beach. Turn Left onto US-1 S/FL-5 S. Turn Left onto W Granada BLVD/FL-40. Turn Right onto S Atlantic Ave/FL-A1A S. The hotel is on the left off of Auditorium blvd.

The Conference will take place at Hilton Daytona Beach, Oceanfront Resort, located at 100 North Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32118.

When making reservations please mention the NASA PM Challenge 2009 Conference to get special conference rate, the reservation code is NASA (The prevailing federal per diem for single rooms with Federal ID will be offered, otherwise the rate will be $138 for single or double rooms).

January 22, 2009 will be the cutoff date for this rate, after this date reservations will be accepted on a space available basis only.

Parking
Parking is $6.00 a day, or 14.00 a day for Valet parking with the hotel.

If you made a left onto A1A here are directions to the $6.00 a day parking: Make a left before the hotel on Auditorium Blvd., and parking is the first right.

If you made a right onto A1A here are directions to the $6.00 a day parking: Make a right after the hotel on Auditorium Blvd., and parking is the first right.

The Project Management Challenge is supported by the NASA Academy of Program/Project and Engineering Leadership (APPEL). APPEL is a Project Management Institute (PMI) Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.). Fifteen PMI Professional Development Units (PDUs) will be available to participants of this conference . PMPs should keep some documentation of attendance at the Project Management Challenge 2009.
