George M. Low provided management and direction for many programs at NASA. His achievements came throughout many fields such as aeronautics, technology, space science, and education. The George M. Low Award recognizes a person or company who is dedicated to organizational quality and excellence.
The Invention of the Year (IOY) recognizes patented and licensed NASA inventions in one or two categories. The Government Invention of the Year is given to the technology that has benefited the government the most over the previous four years while the Commercial Invention of the Year is given to the invention that has had the most commercial impact since licensing.
The Software of the Year Award (SOY) recognizes developers of exceptional software created for or by NASA. The Software of the Year Award competition recognizes the NASA team members that set high standards for significant software that is creative, usable, transferable, and possesses inherent quality.
The QASAR Award recognizes individual government and contractor employees at NASA Headquarters and Centers who have demonstrated exemplary performance in contributing to the quality and/or safety of products, services, processes, or management programs and activities.
